Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems, Small Airborne Effectors Division in Huntsville, AL seeks an experienced Systems Integration & Avionics Engineer to support maintenance, integration, and testing of small airborne missiles, UAS, and payloads. You will work across avionics, instrumentation, and control systems in a fast-paced prototype environment.

Responsibilities include design integration, installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and transitioning prototypes to production, with potential field

Qualifications

• Experience in avionics/instrumentation maintenance, repair and integration; ideally on UAS or missile systems.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, manuals and drawings.
• Proficiency with hand tools and electronic test equipment; strong troubleshooting skills.
• US Citizenship and eligibility for Secret Clearance; effective verbal and written communication.
• Willingness to travel and work irregular schedules as mission needs arise.

Responsibilities

• Design and integrate avionics, sensors, or control systems for UAS platforms; perform installation and functional checks.
• Inspect, service, maintain, and calibrate avionics/instrument systems (navigation, comms, flight-control).
• Troubleshoot discrepancies using schematics, manuals, and test equipment; document findings.
• Transition prototypes to production and support post-fielding sustainment and training.
• Provide field support and potential launcher maintenance as needed.
