Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Avionics Systems Engineer in the Huntsville, AL area to lead the design evolutions of flight vehicles. You will interface with program management, government personnel, and multi-disciplinary engineers to support MBSE activities and flight system development.

The role requires a strong systems engineering background, experience with tests, and the ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, DoD-focused environment. Relocation to North Alabama may be expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering field with ABET accreditation and 7+ years of experience, or MS with 5+ years.
• Ability to translate high-level objectives into system design evolution.
• Strong defense systems background with experience in requirements development and test planning.
• Experience with software/hardware architecture and interface design.
• Hands-on testing of flight systems and documentation.
• Proven leadership of engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop ILS/MBSE artifacts from customer needs for DoD programs.
• Interface with management and design engineers across the system life cycle.
• Lead MBSE modeling and integration activities for flight systems.
• Design and oversee avionics software/hardware work and associated testing.
• Oversee team activities, interfaces, tests, and documentation including ground and flight testing.
