Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems seeks a Systems Integration & Avionics Engineer to support maintenance, integration, inspection, and troubleshooting of small airborne missiles, UAS, and payloads at Huntsville, AL. You will work across avionics, sensors, and flight‑control electronics in a fast‑paced prototype environment.

The role includes design, integration, and production transition activities, with opportunities for end‑user training, field support, and deployment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 8 years of experience, or Associate’s degree with 6 years, or Bachelor’s with 4 years in related field.
• Experience with avionics/instrumentation maintenance, repair, and integration; UAS or missile systems is a plus.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, manuals and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design and integrate new avionics solutions as part of a prototype team.
• Integrate avionics or control systems into UAS platforms; perform installation, wiring, mounting, alignment and testing.
• Inspect, service, calibrate and troubleshoot avionics/instrument systems.
• Maintain records, support training, and ensure safety and compliance.
• Travel and deploy for field support as needed.
