Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an Avionics Software Intern to work with engineering teams on projects supporting our launch vehicle programs. You will design, develop and test avionics software for orbital rockets, ground systems, test stands, and moon landers.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and hands-on learning, with mentorship and real-world experience. The position targets current undergraduate students with at least one semester remaining, available for 15 weeks full-time, and strong

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and have at least one semester or quarter of school remaining after the internship.
• Available to work full time for a minimum of 15 weeks while not concurrently enrolled in coursework.
• Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Hands-on experience with software development and debugging in coursework or projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test avionics software and related tools for launch vehicle systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to verify and validate safety-critical, real-time embedded software.
• Participate in full software lifecycle: requirements analysis, implementation, verification, documentation, and system integration.
• Write and review code primarily in C, C++, and Python for embedded and application environments.
• Create and maintain tools and infrastructure to support build, debugging, testing, deployment, and automation.
