Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an Avionics Hardware Engineering Manager to lead a team developing electrical hardware for Lunar Landers. You will own architecture, drive design improvements, and ensure quality across the product life cycle, shaping the future of crewed spaceflight.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate with product teams, and guide technology development and mission assurance initiatives in a fast-paced environment at Blue Origin’s Lunar Permanence group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering is required, MS preferred.
• 5+ years of experience leading multidisciplinary development projects.
• Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills.
• Understanding of hardware engineering principles.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead, and own upgraded analog and digital avionic designs.
• Own the architecture of hardware and firmware/microprocessor designs across the product life cycle.
• Lead architecture trade studies, analyses, and product roadmap direction.
• Lead design risk analyses (FMECA), DFx, and root-cause analysis of test discrepancies.
• Participate in technology development, mission assurance, and safety initiatives.
• Communicate development status, risks, and challenges to management.
• Mentor team members and develop their potential; plan, delegate, and monitor success.
• Negotiate Statements of Work with product managers and provide resources and tools.
