Ursa Major in Denver, CO is seeking an Avionics Manager to lead an integrated team of FPGA Design, Verification, Firmware/Software, and Electrical Test Engineers developing avionics for national security programs.

You will own department schedule, technical performance, and risk management across multiple programs, coordinating with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Program Management.

Qualifications

• BS in EE/CE/CS or related field.
• 10+ years in FPGA-based digital systems, embedded software, or avionics.
• 3+ years engineering leadership experience.
• Experience delivering hardware/software from concept through production.
• U.S. Person able to obtain ITAR/EAR-related clearances.

Responsibilities

• Lead an integrated engineering organization for FPGA design, verification, firmware, and avionics test engineering.
• Oversee development, integration, verification, qualification, and production transition of avionics hardware and software.
• Ensure robust design reviews, verification plans, CM, and quality standards while meeting schedules.
• Provide technical leadership for FPGA architecture, verification strategy, and automated test development.
• Manage staffing, hiring, mentoring, and cross-disciplinary coordination.
• Develop department resource plans aligned to program priorities.
