Job summary

Blue Origin Engines is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design avionics hardware for rocket engines in space. You will create analog and digital circuits, develop rugged boards, and ensure compliance with safety and reliability requirements throughout the product lifecycle.

The role emphasizes data-driven troubleshooting, DFx, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑reliability, safety‑critical solutions for spaceflight missions.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of professional experience in electronics hardware development.
• Demonstrated technical leadership in guiding project teams and mentoring engineers.
• Hands-on experience with analog and digital circuit design, testing, and debugging.
• Expert knowledge of Op-Amp circuits for instrumentation measurements.
• Knowledge of signal integrity, power conversion, grounding and board layout principles.
• Experience with electronics in harsh environments is valued.

Responsibilities

• Electrical design of analog instrumentation circuits for rocket engine conditions.
• Electrical design of actuator circuits for solenoids or electromechanical systems.
• Interpret systems engineering and quality requirements for electrical development.
• Develop circuits, boards, and rugged hardware across the product lifecycle from concept to production.
• Support risk analyses and DFx activities; perform root-cause analysis of test discrepancies.
• Manage design schedules of avionics subsystems and present program status.
• Identify root cause failure modes using fault trees and fishbone methods.
