Sun Prairie Area School District seeks an AVID academic coach to support seventh through twelfth grade students within the AVID elective program. You will facilitate small-group sessions, model inquiry, and help students develop academic language and higher-order thinking.

Responsibilities include providing feedback, collaborating with tutors and elective teachers, adhering to district policies, and engaging in professional development to support scholars' college and career readiness.

Qualifications

• High school or college graduate with tutoring or work experience.
• Complete AVID training after the hiring process; prior to beginning work as an academic coach.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Previous AVID tutoring or small group facilitation experience.
• Previous experience working in a school setting or with school staff.
• Previous experience working with diverse middle school or high school-aged youth.
• AVID alumni are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsabilités

• Support AVID scholars through facilitating small group tutorial sessions
• Model inquiry, academic language, higher level thinking, and problem solving skills
• Provide feedback on student work and group collaboration
• Collaborate with a team of tutors and elective teachers to support scholars' agency
• Adhere to district/site policies and procedures
• Engage in ongoing professional development
• Other duties may be assigned.
