Job summary

Young World Physical Education is seeking AVID Tutors for Alexandria City Public School District to support middle and high school students. Tutors will facilitate inquiry-based learning in small groups under the guidance of the AVID teacher, available for 14-25 hours per week.

The role requires collaboration with faculty to support the AVID Schoolwide system and attendance at paid training sessions throughout the school year. Applicants must be college-age or recent graduates and are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Tutors must facilitate small group inquiry-based support for middle and high school students.
• Must be available to work between 14-25 hours per week.
• Participation in training sessions is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in learning through small collaborative groups.
• Support the AVID Schoolwide system with faculty and tutors.
• Maintain students' AVID binders/e-binders and planning tools.
• Attend paid training sessions throughout the year.
• Perform duties assigned by AVID elective teacher.
