Job summary

Honda Aero, LLC in Burlington, NC is seeking an Aviation Test Cell Quality Engineer to oversee jet engine testing quality and ensure compliance with FAA Part 43/145 and Part 21 during final buyoffs.

You will validate test plans, coordinate troubleshooting for engine test cell anomalies, review instrumentation and data acquisition systems, and author FAA airworthiness documentation to support safe, on-time releases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent aviation experience).
• 5+ years in aviation production/repair, including 2+ years in engine testing.
• In-depth knowledge of 14 CFR Part 43, 145, and Part 21.
• Experience with LabVIEW, test data acquisition, sensors, and ERP/MES software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate troubleshooting, failure analysis, and rework dispositions for engine test cell anomalies.
• Review and calibrate instrumentation, pressure/temperature sensors, and flow measurement devices.

About the Role:

Honda Aero, LLC is seeking an Aviation Test Cell Quality Engineer in Burlington, NC. You will oversee jet engine testing quality, assure compliance with FAA Part 43/145 and Part 21 regulations, and troubleshoot engine test performance discrepancies during final buyoffs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Validate engine and component test plans against approved FAA design data and Service Bulletins.
• Coordinate troubleshooting, failure analysis, and rework dispositions for engine test cell anomalies.
• Review and calibrate instrumentation, pressure/temperature sensors, and flow measurement devices.
• Inspect and release jet engines, authoring required FAA airworthiness documentation.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation to eliminate testing defects.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent aviation experience).
• 5+ years of aviation production/repair station experience, including 2+ years in an engine testing role.
• In-depth knowledge of 14 CFR Part 43, 145, and Part 21 regulations.
• Experience with test data acquisition systems, sensors, LabVIEW, and aviation ERP/MES software.
