Job summary

West Star Aviation in East Alton, IL is seeking a Sheet Metal Technician to join our maintenance team. You will perform drilling, riveting, cutting, sealant application, and finish work on turbine aircraft structures, reading blueprints and working from drawings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Airframe and Powerplant license (preferred).
• Prior sheet metal experience is preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and work from drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic sheet metal operations such as drilling, riveting, cutting on airframe and associated components.
• Application and removal of sealant, sound deadening and finish materials.
• Maintenance, cleaning and repair of shop facilities, equipment and tooling when required.
• Basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
• Effectively and clearly communicate in English.
• Assist in supervising crews and setting priorities for projects.

Education
