Job summary

West Star Aviation in East Alton, IL, is seeking a Sheet Metal Technician to perform basic sheet metal operations on turbine aircraft structures, read blueprints, and work from drawings. The role supports supervision and prioritization of projects while adhering to FAA guidelines and safety rules.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for an Airframe and Powerplant License.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Airframe and Powerplant License preferred.
• Prior sheet metal experience is preferred.
• Must communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic sheet metal operations such as drilling, riveting, and cutting on airframe components.
• Apply and remove sealant, sound deadening and finish materials.
• Maintain and repair shop facilities, equipment and tooling as needed.
• Operate basic computer systems to access training and manuals.
• Follow FAA guidelines and company safety rules.
