Job summary

FEAM Aero is seeking an experienced Safety & Quality professional to support the development and implementation of the Safety Management System (SMS) and related occupational safety programs. You will work closely with leadership to prevent on-the-job accidents, manage risk, and ensure regulatory compliance across OSHA, EPA, and aviation standards.

The role emphasizes data-driven safety oversight, training, and emergency response planning, with occasional needs for audits and process

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Safety or related field.
• Five or more years’ experience in aviation safety or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Formal education in Safety Management Systems preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA regulations, and 14 CFR Part 145 & 121 operations and environment.
• A&P certificate and/or Commercial Pilot certificate a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the VP of Safety & Quality in developing and implementing the SMS.
• Develop and implement safety programs to prevent unsafe conditions and reduce accidents.
• Manage change management, risk assessments, and safety analyses.
• Maintain hazard identification and risk assessment processes and database.
• Investigate root causes of hazards, near misses, incidents, and audits; ensure mitigations.
• Track safety data using database software.
• Review current practices, inspect facilities, and make safety recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA requirements and best practices.
• Manage EMS documentation and safety newsletters/briefings.
• Develop and conduct periodic emergency response drills and training materials.
• Provide safety, security, and emergency response training to employees.
• Monitor and report safety performance to senior management.
• Propose safety policies and procedures and review their effectiveness.
• Process and gatekeep all safety reports.
• Perform annual safety performance evaluations.
• Other duties as assigned.
