Job summary

City of Charlotte's Aviation Department seeks a professional project manager with high level civil engineering and construction experience to oversee planning, design, procurement and construction administration of complex airport projects.

You will supervise consultants and contractors, manage budgets and schedules, prepare reports, coordinate with FAA/TSA and other agencies, and ensure compliance with regulations while mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Level Degree – Engineering plus five years of experience.
• Professional Engineer licensure is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering practices and airport facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, procurement and construction administration for complex airport projects.
• Supervise consultants and contractors; ensure compliance with contracts and standards.
• Prepare planning and technical reports including feasibility, design, cost estimates and recommendations.
• Coordinate with FAA, TSA and other agencies; manage budgets, schedules and documentation.
