Job summary

RS&H is seeking a Senior Project Manager in Charlotte, NC. The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary teams in the planning, design, and delivery of complex airport projects. You will oversee project execution while managing client relationships and mentoring junior staff. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a strong background in aviation or transportation infrastructure. Qualifications

Job description

Senior Project Manager – Aviation

Locations: Charlotte, NC or Raleigh, NC.

Role Summary

As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead multidisciplinary teams through planning, design, and delivery of complex airport projects. You’ll play a key role in business development, project execution, and client relationship management, while also helping to mentor junior staff within our Charlotte Aviation team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, design, and manage a variety of airport projects
  • Oversee design stormwater, utility infrastructure, and pavement design
  • Manage construction support services, including construction management and inspection
  • Lead and coordinate large, multi-disciplinary design teams
  • Prepare engineering plans, specifications, reports, and permit applications
  • Analyze design alternatives, technical data, cost estimates, and project schedules
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards
  • Maintain and grow client relationships with local and national aviation partners
  • Support business development, including proposal preparation and client presentations
  • Mentor and develop junior team members to promote technical excellence
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • Minimum of 10 years of civil engineering experience, including at least 3 years in civil engineering project design
  • North Carolina Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain within 6 months
