Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) invites an Aviation Project Engineer to join our aviation practice. The role spans planning, design, and delivery of complex airport projects, collaborating with project managers, staff, and clients to ensure high‑quality engineering solutions.

Based in the Pittsburgh region but serving clients nationwide, you will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, mentor engineers, and contribute to business development while applying FAA standards and industry best

Qualifications

• BS in civil engineering from ABET‑accredited program.
• PE license in PA or OH or eligible by reciprocity.
• 8–15 years of aviation engineering or airport design experience.
• Experience with airfield projects and FAA standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support design of aviation infrastructure projects (airfield, landside, utilities).
• Prepare calculations, plans, specs, reports, cost estimates, and bid docs.
• Coordinate with project team, clients, agencies, and subconsultants.
• Provide guidance to developing engineers and review deliverables.
• Support scope, schedule, staffing, and budgets; attend client meetings.
