Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, Inc. seeks an Aviation Project Engineer to plan, design, and deliver aviation infrastructure projects.

You will lead design efforts, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and maintain client relationships, with opportunities for mentorship and growth within the aviation practice. The role requires commuting to the Pittsburgh, PA area three days a week with a flexible work environment.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil engineering degree required.
• PE license in PA or OH or ability to obtain via reciprocity.
• 8–15 years of aviation engineering/airport experience.
• Experience with airfield projects (apron/taxiway/runway) preferred.
• Familiarity with FAA Advisory Circulars and airport design standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for aviation infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants.
• Prepare calculations, plans, specs, and cost estimates.
• Support client relations and project interviews.
• Ensure schedules, budgets, and quality requirements are met.
• Attend client meetings and contribute to proposals.
