Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is seeking a senior aviation civil engineer to lead design and management of airport runway, taxiway, and terminal projects. You will oversee staff, coordinate with clients and subconsultants, and ensure schedule and budget compliance.

The ideal candidate will have 6-10 years of aviation airfield design experience, strong knowledge of FAA criteria and DoD standards, and proven project management and contract document development skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited program.
• Professional Engineer license or equivalent.
• 6-10 years’ experience in aviation airfield design or construction management/construction inspection for commercial hub airports or active multi-runway military installations.

Responsibilities

• AutoCAD Civil 3D surface model design and analysis.
• Construction Quantity Take-offs.
• Airfield Civil Engineering Contract Document Development (Plans, Specifications, and Estimates).
• Construction Safety and Phasing Plan Development.
• Completion and Filing of Form 7460s.
• Project Meeting Coordination (Organize and Run Meetings).
• Maintain current department organizational and quality control standards and update as and where necessary.
• Project Scheduling, Budgeting, and Staffing.
