Job summary

Sinclair Community College is seeking a part-time Aviation Flight Instructor (Adjunct) to teach within the Aviation Technology department at the Dayton campus. Compensation starts at $1,046 per credit hour taught, with adjuncts restricted to a maximum of 12 credit hours per semester.

Applicants must reside in Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky or be able to work within one of these states. The position emphasizes curriculum delivery, student engagement, and compliance with department policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma, and possession of the following FAA certificates and ratings required for the instructional assignment.
• The individual must also meet one of the following qualifications: five years of related professional experience or thirty semester hours toward a bachelor’s degree, or other comparable education or experience.

Responsibilities

• Adjunct Faculty teach curriculum developed by the department
• Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning
• Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department policies
• Employ appropriate teaching methods and use instructional technology when appropriate
• Modify instructional methods to meet diverse students’ needs
• Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success
• Evaluate and return student work promptly to promote learning
• Maintain accurate records of student progress
• Submit final grade rosters on time
• Maintain confidentiality of student information
• Adjunct Faculty cannot teach more than 12 credit hours per semester
