Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Staff Estimator for preconstruction cost estimating on aviation and federal construction initiatives. You will coordinate with clients, procurement, and subcontractors to formulate accurate estimates throughout early concept stages through award.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management and at least 3 years of estimating experience, with strong MS Office and estimating software skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field; 3+ years of direct project estimating experience
• Experience with cost estimating software and MS Office suite
• Excellent written and verbal communication and strong organizational skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Consult with clients, procurement, subcontractors, vendors to discuss estimates
• Assemble material and labor costs for proposals
• Review plans and specifications for risk and mitigation strategies
• Develop estimating strategies and plan for projects
• Present estimating information and bid packages to subcontractors
