Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is hiring a Staff Estimator to support our Aviation & Federal construction group. You will develop cost estimates from concept through subcontract award, preparing proposals that underpin complex construction initiatives.

You will consult with clients and subcontractors, analyze historical data, and ensure accuracy of estimates. Strong Excel, cost software, and collaboration skills are essential for a successful bid and delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field; 3 years of direct project estimating experience required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with cost estimating software such as Quotesoft, Accubid, Oracle, and PowerBI preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consult with clients, procurement, subcontractors, vendors to discuss and formulate estimates.
• Interface with Procurement and Operations to obtain support for estimates.
• Analyze historical data to improve estimating procedures and reduce discrepancies between estimated and actual costs.
• Identify cost trends to assist management in cost reduction.
• Assemble material and labor costs for proposals and bids.
• Prepare and deliver bid packages to subcontractors and present estimating information.
