Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Morristown, NJ seeks an experienced Aviation Construction Project Manager to support EPC projects in the Northeast, overseeing safety, quality, schedule, cost control, and client relations from pre-construction through project completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction, construction management, engineering, or related field; 7 years PM experience in construction; degree may be substituted.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and PM software is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational skills.
• Multi-tasking ability in a fast-paced environment; aviation PM experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety programs and manage Safety & Health performance for project team and subcontractors.
• Oversee day-to-day construction activities and ensure successful execution of one or multiple projects.
• Provide direction in planning, scheduling, estimating, cost development, and project objectives.
• Develop and manage client relationships; interface for proposals and project items.
• Participate in risk reviews and consult with Legal Department as required.
• Negotiate prime contracts, CM/subcontracts, and change orders.
• Implement sections of the Project Execution Plan including QA, safety, subcontracting, staffing, and procurement plans.
• Develop staffing plans and coordinate activities across multiple disciplines and practices.
• Oversee site layout, mobilization, demobilization, and permits.
• Direct downstream RFP/bid processes and draft scope for subcontracts and client contracts.
• Review reports on budgeting, cash flow, and project status; present to management.
• Collaborate with engineering to distribute engineering deliverables per schedule.
• Develop processes for contract administration: ICR, RFIs, submittals, changes, closeout, and claims.
• Oversee invoicing process for prime/subcontracts and client contracts.
• Coordinate commissioning and startup with client, suppliers, and company teams.
• Implement, audit, and oversee project documentation.
• Ensure insurance, taxes/duties, licensures, and bonding compliance.
• Support cost reporting, WBS, setup/closeout, and field progress tracking.
• Develop material receipt and inventory management processes.
• Review contracts with field staff for compliance and safety.
• Direct turnover, warranty, closeout, and retention processes.
• Engage government/industry/public entities on project matters.
• Provide mentorship and performance feedback to team members.
• Manage community/building trades relationships and labor agreements.
