Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Assistant Construction Manager to support the Construction Project Manager and EPC program management across aviation, commercial, energy and more. You will assist with safety, quality, cost control, procurement and client interface on diverse projects.

You will help develop project execution, QA, safety and subcontracting plans, manage documentation, RFPs, change orders, and cost reporting, while ensuring compliance and turnover activities are completed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is required.
• Experience in construction project management and program management preferred.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software is preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage large volumes of work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day management of project safety, quality, schedule, cost control, contracts, subcontractors, procurement, proposals, estimates, documentation, turnover and client interface.
• Collaborate with Project Management to build client relationships and interface with client for items.
• Develop and implement Project Execution Plan, Quality Assurance Plan, Safety & Health Plan, Subcontracting Plan, and Procurement Plan.
• Contribute to negotiation, approval and execution of prime contracts and subcontracts.
• Prepare RFPs and assist in bid and contract document development for subcontractor selection.
• Support cost reporting, scheduling, progress tracking and project closeout processes.
• Prepare information for status reports and distribute meeting minutes.
