Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in the United States seeks a Commercial Project Manager to lead day-to-day management of safety, quality, schedule, cost control, contracts, and client relations on design, EPC, and construction projects. You will guide multi-discipline teams from inception to completion.

The role emphasizes strong communication, risk management, and proactive project controls with responsibilities for budgets, procurement, reporting, and ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related degree from accredited program.
• 7 years applicable experience preferred across aviation, commercial, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, process, transmission & distribution, or water sectors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment and work overtime on short notice.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency using Microsoft Office.
• Ability to collaborate with owners, contractors, engineers in multi-discipline teams.
• Strong experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership of multi-discipline engineering projects from concept to completion including safety, quality, procurement and project controls.
• Establish project teams and coordinate activities of multiple disciplines for cost-effective staff utilization.
• Manage all aspects of project communication and client relations.
• Lead or support proposal development, qualificatio ns packages, interview presentations, and contract negotiations.
• Develop and monitor project schedules, manage scope, and control costs.
• Oversee prime/subcontract negotiations and change orders; manage risk reviews.
