The role emphasizes safety leadership, coordination of field operations, and ensuring compliance with plans and specifications, while mentoring field staff and interfacing with owners, engineers, and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training is required (may be obtained within first year).
• 2+ years of commercial construction experience, or 6+ years if no college degree.

Responsibilities

• Assist the superintendent in planning and organizing field activities.
• Oversee safety plans and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
• Coordinate layout, material storage, crane placement, and site logistics.
• Direct field engineers in surveys and layout; ensure correct elevations and control lines.
• Monitor weekly labor costs and progress; take corrective actions as needed.
• Inspect subcontracted and self-performed work to ensure quality workmanship.
• Provide technical guidance to resolve day-to-day construction issues.
• Manage scheduling of governmental inspections for occupancy.
