Job summary

LS Technologies, a Tetra Tech Company, seeks an Electrical Engineer to support FAA Air Traffic Control Communications systems testing, evaluation, and analysis. You will plan test cases, develop protocol converter tests, and measure IP/VoIP signaling while coordinating with engineering teams.

The role emphasizes IP/VoIP protocols, ED-137/ED-138 familiarity, and hands-on testing using tools like Wireshark; a strong engineering background and ABET-accredited degree are required.

Qualifications

• Must have 5+ years' experience in basic engineering concepts.
• TCP/IP protocol stack elements utilized in VoIP systems (SIP, RTP).
• Knowledge of basic Linux commands.
• Knowledge of IPv4 networking principles.
• Knowledge of network impairment testing and reporting; metrics such as latency, jitter, packet loss.
• Knowledge of Test & Evaluation (test plans, procedures, reports).
• Experience with Wireshark or equivalent software.
• ABET-accredited engineering degree; Master’s/PhD substitutions allowed for years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides engineering expertise to meet mission requirements.
• Plan and execute Operational Test Cases validating Air traffic control communications systems.
• Develop protocol converter test plans, procedures, and reports.
• Develops procedures for measurement of IP, analog, and discrete signals.
• Support technical performance testing for protocol converters and related equipment.
