Job summary

Royal Flying Doctor Service South Australia / Northern Territory (RFDS SA/NT) invites an Operations Coordinator to join the Operations Coordination Centre in Darwin, coordinating aircraft, crews and road ambulance resources for essential aeromedical services. This full-time role supports a 24/7 operation with rotating 12-hour shifts.

You will liaise with hospitals, clinics and partners, ensure timely transfers, and contribute to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate RFDS SA/NT assets and resources to support safe, efficient and responsive operations.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including contract partners and healthcare professionals, to support high-quality patient care.
• Liaise with hospitals, remote clinics and other locations to coordinate patient readiness and transfers.
• Coordinate road ambulance resources and aircraft refuelling requirements for patient transfers and readiness.
• Provide advice on asset and crew availability and optimize use of resources.
• Monitor and manage ground-to-aircraft radio communications for safe operations.
• Record and maintain operational data in relevant systems and databases.
• Contribute to QA and continuous improvement across the OCC.
