About the Opportunity

Every flight has a purpose.

As a Line Pilot with RFDS SA/NT, you’ll operate our Pilatus PC-12 fleet, delivering life-saving aeromedical retrievals, inter-hospital patient transfers and primary healthcare missions across the Northern Territory.

Based in DARWIN OR GOVE, you’ll fly into some of Australia’s most unique and remote locations, working alongside highly skilled flight nurses, doctors, engineers and operational teams to deliver essential healthcare where it is needed most.

No two days are the same. One mission may involve responding to an emergency retrieval from a remote community, while the next sees you transporting patients between hospitals or supporting healthcare teams delivering services across regional and remote Australia.

As part of our commitment to developing our pilots, you’ll have the opportunity to upskill onto the Pilatus PC-12 PRO, supported by comprehensive training and ongoing professional development.

This is more than a flying role. It’s an opportunity to combine your passion for aviation with meaningful work that genuinely improves the lives of people living in rural and remote communities.

About You

You are a safety-focused pilot who enjoys operating in a dynamic environment where sound judgement, professionalism and teamwork are essential. You thrive under pressure, enjoy variety and are committed to delivering the highest standards of safety while supporting exceptional patient care.

  • Current Instrument Rating with a current Instrument Proficiency Check (IPC).
  • Approximately 2,000 hours total flight time.
  • Approximately 1,500 hours Pilot in Command (PIC).
  • Approximately 100 hours of night flying experience.
  • Recent single-pilot IFR experience within the past two years.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

If you’re close to meeting these requirements and believe you have the skills, experience and capability to succeed in the role, we’d still love to hear from you.

Experience in the following will be highly regarded:

  • Pilatus PC-12 operations.
  • Turbine aircraft operations.
  • Remote and regional flying.
  • Aeromedical, emergency services or charter operations.
  • Single-pilot IFR operations.
  • Knowledge of rural and remote Australia.
Our Benefits

As part of our team, you will be supported to achieve your best while contributing to meaningful work that makes a real difference.

We offer:

  • Generous salary packaging options (up to $15,899 $2,650 meal & entertainment)
  • Competitive remuneration
  • Flexible work arrangements
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Reward and recognition programs
  • Learning and development opportunities
