Job summary

Air Methods in Audubon, IA is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic to perform maintenance, repairs, inspections and alterations of company aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations and Air Methods policies. The role requires on-call availability and travel as needed.

Responsibilities include inspecting components, verifying part numbers, maintaining maintenance records, and supporting the Safety Management System. A&P license and 2–5 years’ related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 2 to 5 years of related aircraft maintenance experience is required.
• Factory airframe/power plant schools preferred.
• FAR 135 operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs inspections and repairs of aircraft and components in accordance with maintenance procedures, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, service letters, and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations
• Verifies part numbers and serial numbers match documentation after installation/removal of components
• Ensures maintenance documentation complies with FARs, policies, and manuals
• Participates in the Safety Management System (SMS) continuous improvement
• Maintains a clean, professional work area
• Advises PIC of maintenance issues that could take an aircraft out of service
• Requests aviation parts to maintain inventory for readiness
• Other duties as assigned
