Job summary

CAMP is seeking an AVI Teacher for virtual instruction with potential on-site events. This contract/part-time role pays $50 per hour and focuses on delivering high-quality instruction within the Alabama Virtual Institute framework.

Ideal candidates will manage online classrooms, leverage technology, and align with CAMP's mission of educational excellence. Collaboration with Fellows and leadership is essential for student success and program evaluation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
• Valid teaching certification or documented instructional experience (preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to teach diverse learners in virtual and/or in-person environments.
• Strong technical skills and proficiency with virtual platforms (Zoom, Google Suite, etc.).
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain a positive, energetic, and student-centered classroom culture.

Responsibilities

• Deliver clear, standards-based instruction aligned to AVI curriculum and program outcomes.
• Manage virtual classroom dynamics to create an interactive, student-centered environment.
• Incorporate technology tools (Zoom, interactive apps, screen sharing) to enhance learning.
• Maintain a positive and energetic teaching style to keep students engaged and motivated.
• Coordinate with Fellows to ensure sessions run smoothly (attendance, recordings, technical support).
• Communicate regularly with the Program Director regarding student progress and classroom needs.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to share best practices and align instruction across sites.
• Monitor student participation, performance, and growth; provide feedback and adjust instruction as needed.
• Complete required reports, forms, and student attendance accurately and in a timely manner.
• Participate in evaluation processes and professional development sessions as directed.
