Job summary

NC State University is seeking an Audio Visual Technology Student Assistant to support the IT AV team in group study rooms and conference spaces. You will help connect and configure laptops and AV devices, troubleshoot issues, and ensure reliable equipment availability.

You will also assist with surplus inventory and support events by running AV setups and providing on-site technical help, including after-hours scheduling as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be actively enrolled at NC State.
• Must be able to lift at least 35 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist users in connecting and configuring laptops and other AV devices in group study rooms and conference rooms.
• Troubleshoot and resolve AV equipment issues; inspect rooms for common problems to ensure long-term functionality.
• Assist with surplus equipment inventory and disposal; help move boxes and place AV gear on pallets.
• Support event organizers with AV needs, operate equipment during events, and assist speakers as needed.
