Job summary

CTI seeks an Associate AV Design Engineer to translate client concepts into build-ready AV system designs. You will serve as the technical backbone from concept through execution, creating signal flow diagrams, system drawings, and documentation while coordinating with Sales, PMs, BIM/CAD, and field teams to ensure builds are aligned with CTI standards.

The role requires 3+ years in AV design, strong documentation skills, and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years designing commercial AV systems
• Experience creating AV documentation/drawings (signal flow, system drawings)
• Strong collaboration across Sales, PMs, BIM/CAD, and field teams

Responsibilities

• Design complete commercial AV systems (conference rooms, boardrooms, training spaces).
• Create AV signal flow diagrams, system drawings, and documentation (Visio and/or CAD).
• Review project scope, proposals, and kickoff info; clarify technical requirements.
• Select equipment and define system architecture aligned with standards, constraints, and budgets.
• Coordinate with Sales, PMs, BIM/CAD teams, architects, consultants, IT, and electrical stakeholders.
• Provide technical direction and QA on drawings for field confidence.
• Support execution with field/programming questions and substitutions due to site conditions.
