Job summary

Conference Technologies in Omaha, NE is seeking an Associate AV Design Engineer to translate client ideas into build-ready AV designs. You will serve as the technical backbone from concept through execution, collaborating with Sales, PMs, BIM/CAD, and field teams to ensure designs are smart, buildable, and CTI-compliant.

The role requires 3+ years of AV design experience and strong skills in documentation, signal flow, and system drawings.

Qualifications

• 3+ years designing commercial AV systems
• Experience creating AV documentation and drawings (signal flow, system drawings)
• Ability to select equipment and define system architecture that meets standards and budget
• Strong cross-team communication and collaboration skills
• Associate degree preferred, attitude and aptitude matter

Responsibilities

• Design complete commercial AV systems (conference rooms, boardrooms, training spaces)
• Create AV signal flow diagrams, system drawings, and documentation (Visio and CAD)
• Review project scope and kickoff info to clarify technical requirements
• Select AV equipment and define system architecture aligned with CTI standards and budgets
• Collaborate with Sales, PMs, BIM/CAD teams, architects, consultants, IT, and electrical stakeholders
• Provide technical direction and QA on drawings for field use
• Support execution with field questions and substitutions as needed
