Job summary

CTI is seeking an AV Design Engineer to transform client requirements into clear, build-ready commercial audio visual designs and provide ongoing technical support from concept to execution. This onsite role in Norman, OK emphasizes clear signal flows, rigorous documentation, and close collaboration with Sales, BIM/CAD, and field teams.

The candidate will design end-to-end AV systems, produce diagrams using Visio/CAD, review scopes, select equipment, and ensure builds stay within budget and CTI

Qualifications

• 3+ years designing commercial AV systems.
• Experience producing AV documentation and drawings (signal flow, system drawings) using Visio and/or CAD.
• Ability to select equipment and develop buildable, standards-aligned solutions within budget.
• Strong communication skills to translate technical details for different stakeholders.
• Collaborative, independent working style with curiosity for asking questions.
• Associate degree preferred; attitude and aptitude matter.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end commercial AV systems for conference rooms, boardrooms, training spaces, and enterprise setups.
• Create AV signal flow diagrams, system drawings, and project documentation using Visio and/or CAD.
• Review scope, proposals, and kickoff information; ask targeted technical questions to confirm requirements.
• Select equipment and define system architecture fitting CTI standards, constraints, and budgets.
• Coordinate with Sales, Project Managers, BIM/CAD teams, architects, consultants, IT, and electrical stakeholders to keep designs coordinated and buildable.
• Provide technical direction and QA on drawings so field teams can rely on documentation.
• Support execution by addressing field and programming questions, procurement clarifications or substitutions, and updates due to site conditions or product availability.
