Job summary

Genuine Parts Company (NAPA Autotech) seeks an Autotech Technical Trainer to lead automotive training for AutoCare and Major Account shop employees. This role focuses on advancing diagnostic skills, reducing comebacks, and driving parts sales through expert delivery and hands-on instruction.

The trainer reports to a Regional Training Manager and will travel extensively, delivering engaging sessions, developing curricula, and collaborating with internal teams and major accounts to maximize

Qualifications

• ASE Master Technician Certification required.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a working automotive technician.
• Prior automotive, truck or related training, facilitation, and meeting direction experience.
• Prior experience (2+ years) successfully conducting adult learning programs.
• High School Diploma, or equivalent experience, required.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and human relations skills.
• Minimum 70% travel required.
• Ability to stand and talk for 4+ hours at a time with breaks.
• Heavy physical activities may be required (lifting training props up to 70 lbs).
• Maintains and protects assigned equipment, vehicle, computers, credit cards and other assets.

Responsibilities

• Continually develop knowledge and skills as an automotive/truck instructor through study, hands-on work, and training.
• Prepare extensively for classes and deliver engaging, professional presentations using adult learning principles.
• Develop training schedules with management and the NAPA Training Service Center.
• Partner with division management to implement and facilitate training programs.
• Contribute to course/curriculum development and adjust content based on feedback.
• Ensure content integrity while allowing learner-focused enhancements.
• Collaborate with customers to plan training events and meet needs.
• Provide feedback on training events, processes, and materials to management.
