Job summary

Genuine Parts Company’s NAPA Autotech is seeking an experienced Technical Instructor to deliver automotive and truck training to technicians and shop owners. You'll use approved curriculum, apply adult-learning principles, and stay current with diagnostics to build technical capability and reduce comebacks.

This role involves travel up to 70%, evening or multi-day sessions, and collaboration with management, field teams, and customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; ASE Master certification required.
• Minimum 5 years as a working automotive technician.
• 2+ years facilitating adult-learning programs and trainings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for and deliver engaging, technically accurate automotive and truck training.
• Facilitate instructor-led training in classroom, shop, and events; day/evening/multi-day sessions.
• Maintain content integrity while adapting examples to learner needs.
• Ensure effective learning environment including prerequisites and AV needs.
• Evaluate learner outcomes through assessments and feedback.
• Identify learner gaps and suggest follow-up training.
• Deliver training presentations at NAPA Autotech events and with customers.
• Partner with management and field teams to identify training needs and schedules.
• Build relationships with technicians, shop owners, customers, and Autotech colleagues.
• Support marketing and engagement activities for Autotech programs.
• Represent and promote NAPA Autotech training and products professionally.
• Communicate feedback and improvement opportunities to stakeholders.
• Participate in needs assessments and continuous-improvement initiatives.
• Complete required pre/post-class administration accurately (rosters, evaluations).
• Safely transport, set up, operate, and store training materials and equipment.
• Maintain assets and keep knowledge current through professional development.
• Follow safety policies and procedures; perform other duties as assigned.
