Job summary

SanMar seeks a Maintenance Engineer, Autostore to optimize operations in our distribution centers. You will oversee facility and Autostore systems, troubleshoot electronics, and ensure preventive maintenance while coordinating with DC leadership and vendors.

You will train staff and manage parts inventory for reliability and safety. You will monitor HMI reporting, resolve jams, and support MHE rollouts, with travel to support multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience with industrial equipment.
• 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience maintaining conveyor belt systems.
• May be required to complete and maintain SanMar’s Lift Operator Certification every two years.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to change and work across teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain facility and Autostore systems including conveyors and related control systems.
• Replace and repair bearings, rollers, belts, gear boxes, motors, air valves and related components.
• Supervise Facilities employees in DC; direct work and provide training as needed.
• Review schematics and troubleshoot panel indicators; diagnose scanners, ez-logic and VFDs.
• Review HMI reporting and clear jams; troubleshoot fault conditions and power issues.
• Collaborate with IT, DSaP and vendors to diagnose concerns and communicate resolutions.
• Train DC staff on MHE, loading/unloading, processes, quality control and rates.
• Define and execute preventive maintenance programs; manage parts inventory and warranties.
• Comply with laws and maintain required hazmat records.
• Respond to inquiries and resolve facility issues.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
