Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Vehicle Operator Specialist to join the Autonomy Systems Validation team in Miami. You will drive prototype EVs on public roads and test tracks, lead on-shift operations, and coach other operators to uphold top-tier safety and testing standards.

In this hands-on role, you’ll oversee vehicle prep, data offloading, and shift handovers, while mentoring new operators and maintaining rigorous logs and reporting for engineering analysis.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional automotive driving with AV testing or fleet operations.
• Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills.
• Ability to operate autonomous systems for 6–8 hours daily.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and travel up to 20% for field testing.
• Proficiency with laptops and enterprise tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist with training materials and onboarding programs.
• Provide on-the-floor coaching and safety instruction.
• Operate prototype test vehicles in autonomous, semi-autonomous, and manual modes for up to 8 hours daily.
• Lead on-shift floor contact for driver questions and feedback.
• Perform pre/post-trip inspections and sensor calibrations.
• Track vehicle health and manage fleet charging logistics.
• Document post-drive reports and safety feedback.
