Saronic Technologies Inc. is searching for a Forward Deployed Software Engineer in San Diego, CA, to lead the development and deployment of our cutting-edge autonomous systems.

In this role, you will work closely with software and networking components to optimize performance in real-world maritime environments, addressing challenges that affect our service vessels directly. If you have strong software engineering skills and are ready to make an impact in maritime operations, we want to hear from you.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering skills with experience in C++, Rust, or Python.
• Background in robotics and embedded systems, especially in maritime applications.
• Understanding of networking protocols including TCP/IP and UDP.
• Experience with sensors like cameras, radar, GPS, and IMUs.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% for field testing.
• Ability to diagnose and debug complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine software for autonomy and networking in maritime conditions.
• Deploy software in the field, addressing autonomy and control issues.
• Analyze performance data and implement software improvements.
• Integrate new autonomy features with software and vessel hardware.
• Collaborate with teams to enhance product capabilities.
