Saronic Technologies is leading the development of autonomous maritime systems. We seek a Forward Deployed Software Engineer to develop, deploy, and improve software for autonomous service vessels in real-world environments.

You will debug autonomy algorithms, optimize performance from field data, and work closely with operators to adapt the system to mission needs. This role blends software, field work, and problem-solving to deliver real mission impact.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering in C++, Rust, Python.
• Background in robotics, autonomy, or embedded systems.
• Experience with sensors (cameras, radar, GPS, IMUs) and perception-driven autonomy.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% for field testing and deployments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine autonomous software for field deployment and mission execution.
• Deploy and test software in real-world maritime environments.
• Analyze field data to drive software improvements and system behavior.
• Integrate new autonomy features with sensors and vessel hardware.
• Collaborate with autonomy engineers, hardware teams, and field operators.
• Document deployment procedures and debugging workflows.
