Job summary

AeroVironment invites you to join its Summer Internship Program in Albuquerque as an Autonomy & Robotics Engineering Intern. Work with a team of engineers on autonomous behaviors, machine perception, and robotic control for UAS and other platforms, gaining hands-on experience with algorithms, simulation, and hardware in a fast-paced R&D environment.

Qualifications

Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s in a technical field such as CS, aerospace, electrical engineering, or robotics.
Coursework or project experience in robotics, autonomy, or computer vision.
Proficiency in C/C++ (C++11+).
Familiarity with Python and MATLAB for data analysis or prototyping.
Interest in UAS, robotics, or autonomous systems.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to learn and collaborate in a hands-on environment.

Responsibilities

Assist design, implementation, and testing of algorithms for computer vision, tracking, and detection.
Support GNC with visual sensors and state estimation.
Work on autonomous behavior modeling and path planning.
Contribute to code reviews and integration across teams.
Document findings in internal reports and presentations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
