Job summary

AeroVironment offers a 12-week Summer Internship Program in the United States focused on Autonomy & Robotics Engineering. Interns work on autonomous behaviors, machine perception, and robotic control systems for UAS and advanced platforms, gaining hands-on experience with real hardware under senior mentor guidance.

Participants will develop skills in algorithm development, simulation, and integration in a fast-paced R&D environment, with relocation housing stipends possible for eligible

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a technical field such as CS, EE, or robotics.
• Coursework or projects in robotics, autonomy, or computer vision.
• Proficient in C/C++ (C++11+ preferred).
• Familiarity with Python and/or MATLAB for data analysis or prototyping.

Responsibilities

• Assist design, implementation, and testing of algorithms related to computer vision, tracking, and target detection.
• Support autonomy software development on simulation platforms and real hardware.
• Collaborate with teammates on testing, data collection, and experimental design.
• Participate in code reviews and integration efforts across multidisciplinary teams.
• Document and present findings in internal reports or presentations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
