Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking an Autonomy & Robotics Engineering Intern for a 12-week, onsite program in the United States. You will collaborate with engineers on autonomous systems, perception, and robot control, applying algorithms to real hardware and simulations in a fast-paced R&D setting.

The internship emphasizes mentorship, hands-on development, and exposure to cutting-edge autonomy applications within UAS platforms. Relocation and housing support may be provided for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s in a relevant technical field.
Coursework in robotics or computer vision.
Proficiency in C/C++ (C++11+ preferred).
Experience with Python or MATLAB for data analysis.

Responsibilities

Assist in designing, implementing, and testing algorithms for computer vision, tracking, and target detection.
Support GNC integration with visual sensors and state estimation.
Assist in autonomous behavior modeling and path planning.
Work on coordination, data collection, testing, and experimental design with teammates.
Participate in code reviews and cross-disciplinary integration.
Document findings and present results in internal reports.
