Job summary

AV is seeking an Autonomy & Robotics Engineering Intern to join a dynamic R&D team. You’ll work with engineers on autonomous behaviors, machine perception, and robotic control systems for unmanned aerial systems and advanced platforms.

Expect hands-on hardware, algorithm development, simulation, and collaboration with senior engineers in a fast-paced environment. You will gain experience in computer vision, GNC, and state estimation while contributing to real-world autonomy projects and

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field such as CS, aerospace, EE, or robotics.
• Coursework or project experience in robotics, autonomy, or computer vision.
• Proficiency in C/C++ (C++11+ preferred).
• Familiarity with Python and/or MATLAB for data analysis or prototyping.
• Interest in UAS, robotics, or autonomous systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test algorithms for computer vision object tracking and target detection.
• Develop GNC (Guidance, Navigation, and Control) with visual sensors.
• Perform state estimation using inertial and visual data.
• Model autonomous behavior (finite-state machines, behavior trees).
• Plan paths and coordinate multiple vehicles.
• Support autonomy software on simulation platforms and real hardware.
• Collaborate on testing, data collection, and experimental design.
• Participate in code reviews and cross-disciplinary integration.
• Document findings in internal reports or presentations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
