Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to own mechanical designs from concept through deployment, designing, building, validating, and integrating hardware for sensors, actuators, compute systems, and drive-by-wire components to operate in harsh environments.

You will work on sensor mounting systems, ruggedized enclosures, vehicle retrofit kits, and electromechanical assemblies, moving between CAD, prototyping, vehicle installation, and field debugging in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional mechanical design engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency with 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred).
• Experience designing, building, and deploying physical hardware systems.
• Experience designing mechanical assemblies, brackets, mounts, enclosures, or structural hardware.
• Hands-on prototyping, fabrication, and mechanical troubleshooting experience.
• Experience owning designs through prototype, validation, and deployment.
• Strong understanding of design for manufacturing (DFM) principles.
• Experience creating engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
• Comfortable working onsite, in the shop, and in field deployment environments.

Responsibilities
