Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to own electrical systems from concept to deployment for autonomous mining and transport platforms. You will design hardware, validate drives, and integrate high-speed boards with the firmware team in a fast-paced startup environment.

You will work across vehicles, robotics, and field deployments, using CAN/CAN FD, LIN, Ethernet, and drive-by-wire interfaces while leading hardware development from spec to deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Proven track record leading complex electrical engineering projects from concept through deployment.
• Strong PCB design experience including schematic capture, layout, validation, and manufacturing handoff.
• Experience with high-speed signals, mixed-signal systems, and carrier board design.
• Strong understanding of embedded systems, microcontrollers, and hardware/software integration.
• Familiarity with vehicle and robotics communication systems such as CAN, CAN FD, LIN, Ethernet, PWM, serial interfaces.
• Hands-on debugging and validation using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and lab equipment.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of hardware development from spec to deployment.
• Thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Electrical Architecture & Ownership: Design and own custom electrical systems from requirements through deployment.
• PCB Design & Compute Systems: Create multi-layer PCBs and carrier boards for high-performance compute platforms.
• Robotics & Vehicle Systems: Integrate electronics for autonomous operation and drive-by-wire systems.
• Vehicle Communications & Reverse Engineering: Analyze CAN/LIN/Ethernet signals and interfaces.
• Firmware Collaboration: Align hardware interfaces with firmware teams and debug system-level issues.
• Debugging, Validation & Root Cause Analysis: Bring-up boards, validate hardware, troubleshoot, and diagnose failures.
• Deployment & Field Support: Assist testing and field deployment on vehicles and robotic systems.
