Job summary

General Motors AV Simulation team seeks a dedicated Simulation Intern to assist in designing, building, and launching real simulation features used by validation teams. You will work with Hardware/Software in the Loop and autonomous vehicle software groups, translating customer needs into precise specs and delivering production-ready code on our shared simulation platform.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, engineering, or related STEM field.
• At least one additional quarter/semester of school remaining after internship.
• Experience coding in Python or C++.

Responsibilities

• Ramp up quickly on the codebase, product area, and system.
• Meet with customers to learn their needs and translate into specs.
• Deliver tasks efficiently with few iterations.
• Develop, test, and deploy production-ready code across simulation components.
• Identify problems, outline optimal solutions, and consider edge cases.
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for software integration.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• Seek guidance from senior developers when needed.
