Job summary

Uber is seeking an experienced Operational Safety Program Manager to design and drive safety programs for its autonomous mobility and delivery ecosystem in the United States. You will lead Safety Policy, Risk Management, Safety Assurance, and Safety Promotions across AV fleets and partners.

You will build and maintain safety standards, incident response, and performance metrics, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners to raise safety performance and ensure regulatory

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of industry experience in safety management in transportation sectors (AVs, aviation, automotive, etc.)
• Experience supporting safety programs for vehicle operators in development, testing, and operations.
• Proven cross-functional collaboration across AV or aviation teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management across cultures and industries.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety management expertise for internal stakeholders and partners on SMS best practices for autonomous vehicles.
• Execute and support safety programs for vehicle operators in commercial activities.
• Manage safety programs from inception to operations, ensuring timelines and milestones.
• Support cross-functional teams and external partners on safety of AV fleets.
• Engage with Uber's AV partners to conduct Safety Assurance and Risk Management activities.
