Job summary

Uber is seeking an experienced Operational Safety Program Manager to drive safety programs for fleet operators in its autonomous mobility and delivery ecosystem. You will lead safety protocol development, incident response, reporting, and performance metrics, shaping Uber's internal safety standards and audit frameworks for global AV partners.

The role requires deep knowledge of SMS and a track record in managing cross-functional programs across evolving transportation tech.

Qualifications

• Safety management expertise in transportation or related industries.
• Experience supporting safety programs for development, testing and operations.
• Proven ability to work with cross-functional and cross-industry teams.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety management expertise for internal and external partners on SMS best practices for AVs including Safety Policy, Safety Risk Management, Safety Assurance and Safety Promotions.
• Execute and support safety programs for vehicle operators in commercial activities.
• Manage safety programs from inception to operations with timelines and milestones across cross-functional teams.
• Engage with Uber's AV partners and fleet operators to carry out Safety Assurance and Risk Management activities.
• Stay current with safety trends and maintain strong professional safety networks.
