Job summary

KingRecruitingServices in Austin, TX is seeking a Vehicle Integration Technician to retrofit automation hardware on industrial vehicles, integrating electrical, mechanical, and CAN systems. The role is hybrid and involves frequent customer site work across the US.

We are targeting hands-on builders from automotive, robotics, or heavy machinery backgrounds with 4+ years of experience. You will contribute to deploying autonomy at scale and help write the deployment playbook for the US market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in engineering or related field.
• 3–8 years experience in vehicle integration, robotics, or related industries.
• Experience retrofitting autonomous or industrial vehicles is a plus.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% for customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Adapt our standard platform hardware to fit each machine model.
• Build and install wiring harnesses, connectors, mounting brackets, sensors, and actuators; perform checks.
• Visit customer sites to scope retrofit needs and manage installation, commissioning, and testing.
• Troubleshoot integration across electrical, mechanical, and software layers; provide clear change requests to platform teams.
• Document build issues and lessons learned to improve Vehicle Adapter Kits; ECU/embedded programming experience is a big plus.
